Who said you have to put your camera away when the sun goes down? Sunrise and sunsets with their burning reds and yellows are favourite shooting time for many photographers, but there is no need to limit oneself to that. The magical hour right before before sunrise or after sunset, when the sky still has colour, offer plenty of photographic opportunities. I like to be out and about with camera and tripod as the skies become darker, the colours become bolder, the electric lights sparkle like diamonds, and the city’s skyline comes alive. Even the middle of the night, with a dusting of cold, bright moonlight, can deliver exquisite views.
